Privacy Policy

This privacy policy states what information we collect, how we use it and manage it to provide IRKit service.
By using IRKit device and smartphone app, you agree to this privacy policy.

IRKit device

When IRKit device is setup in your house, we collect from the IRKit device:

1. IRKit mac address
2. IP address
3. IR signal that IRKit's IR receiver has detected

1. is stored permanently inside our database for support reasons.
2. and 3. are stored temporary in server for support reasons, and deleted after 90 days.

IRKit smartphone app

When you use the official smartphone application, we collect from the app:

1. IP address
2. IR signal info that the app is sending

1. and 2. are stored temporary in server for support reasons, and deleted after 90 days.

When you setup IRKit, you have to input your Wi-Fi access point name and password into the app. The app sends this information directly to IRKit over IRKit's own Wi-Fi network for it to connect to your Wi-Fi access point. We do not send it anywhere over the Internet.

IRKit Internet API

When you use the IRKit Internet API, we collect from the HTTP client:

1. IP address
2. All input information that you send through the API
3. Email if you use the POST /1/apps API

1. and 2. are stored temporary in server for support reasons, and deleted after 90 days.
3. is stored temporary in server for technical reasons, and deleted after 1 day.

Analytics

On getirkit.com web site and in the smartphone app, we use 3rd party libraries for analytics.
On getirkit.com we use Google Analytics, and in the smartphone app we use Fabric (fabric.io) to monitor number of visitors and estimate our server infrastructure costs.

Information Usage

All information we collect is used to provide IRKit service and customer support.
We do not share the collected information to outside parties.
